Dear Dr. Roberta,
My parents are making me move again. They always find new jobs in new cities. I hate the idea of leaving everything and everyone I know. Please give me some advice.
Sophomore, Arkansas
Dear Sophomore,
Think of the move as an adventure. It is an opportunity to use your social skills to overcome a difficult situation. Once you succeed in making new friends and learning your way around your new school you’ll have a tremendous feeling of accomplishment. Kids who move a lot become adults who have great resilience and success in many situations.
