Dear Dr. Roberta,
I have a 13 month old and my friend has a baby the same age. Whenever we get together she compares our babies and brags about how advanced her baby is. I try not to let it bother me because I know all babies are different but this is starting to ruin our friendship. What should I do?

Dear Mother,
Tell your friend she hurts your feelings when she compares babies. Then ask her to agree that when you get together she’ll say three wonderful things about her baby and you’ll say three wonderful things about yours, and then you’ll change the subject.
