Many phobias can be eradicated by using tapping and you can do it yourself. It’s time to GET A GRIP and learn how to tap away your phobia.
Do you have a phobia? A phobia is a fear that is extreme enough to disrupt your life.
You might be afraid of germs and so you stay away from people who are sneezing and coughing. That’s an appropriate response to a reasonable fear. That is not a phobia. It does not disrupt your life.
However, if your fear of germs prevents you from leaving your house without protective gloves, mask, antibiotics, and multiple layers of clothing, that is a phobia.
The tapping cure works like this: You create the appropriate sentence for your situation (I’ll show you how to do that) and then you tap on the appropriate part of your body (I’ll show you how to do that) and you will quickly eradicate your unwanted thoughts and feelings.
Your sentence will consist of three parts:
Part 1 is simply two words: Even though
Part 2 is your unique fear. Some examples: I am scared of dogs.
- I am too afraid of __________.
- I am afraid I might see a _____.
Part 3 consist of three words: I accept myself
Now please put together your sentence.
Some examples:
- Even though I am scared of dogs, I accept myself
- Even though I am too afraid of the ocean to ever go to a beach, I accept myself.
- Even though I am afraid I might see a clown, I accept myself.
The tapping spots that usually cure a phobia are karate spot and side spot. The karate spot is the bone that connects your wrist to your little finger. It’s the side of your hand that you’d use to deliver a karate chop. The side spot is on the side of your body midway between your waist and your underarm. It’s the spot you would feel if you were hugging yourself. It makes no difference if you use right or left hand, right or left side.
Here’s how the tapping works: Use four fingers to do your tapping and tap each spot while you say your sentence. Say your sentence three times while tapping your karate spot and then say your sentence three times while tapping your side spot. Take a deep breath when you finish and then repeat the entire sequence.
You might want to close your eyes while tapping; that’s okay. You might want to repeat the sequence several times each day; that’s okay.
Tapping works best if you are experiencing your fear, your anxiety, to a great extent when you begin the process. So, allow yourself to experience your dreaded feelings right before you start tapping.
The goal is to overcome your phobia and you will! Congratulations!
