Dear Dr. Roberta,
I’ve just been promoted and now I wake up many times during the night because I have thoughts about what I have to do the next day. I’ll always have pressure at my job. Does that mean I’ll never again sleep through the night?
Executive, Ohio
Dear Executive,
Whatever you put down on paper leaves your head. Begin using an elaborate system of detailed lists. Write everything that must be accomplished the next day. Use columns to separate indoor from outdoor chores, urgent matters from those that can wait, and highlight what can be delegated to someone else. Sleep will come easily once you’ve planned for tomorrow.
